This review is from: Pyle Home PT598AS 5.1-Channel 350 Watt Home Theater Receiver Surround Sound Package with Subwoofer/Center and 4 Satellite Speakers (Electronics)

I purchased this because it was a great price for a 5.1 surround system. When I received it, I was impressed by everything it contained. It has speaker wire and speaker mounting brackets included. It is a handsome unit (if rating on looks alone, it would get 5 stars) and I was looking forward to hearing it. Sadly, I found out that this unit only has component RCA type inputs. If you have any newer technology as I do, which requires your receiver to have HDMI or optical inputs, you are out of luck. You have no way to connect them. You would need to carefully read the product description to see that it has analog inputs. It does not give any indication of digital inputs and if you assume it should have at least one (as I did), you would be wrong. It does not help that no photos of the rear of the unit are shown. No other website I looked at, including the manufacturer’s, had either photos, a description or an owner’s manual to tell you this info. I found out only after unpacking everything. I should have never assumed. I had to repack it and am returning it. But if you can use RCA inputs, this seems like a great system. I gave the 3 stars for the older technology and lack of proper description, I could not hook it up, so I can not rate the sound quality.
